   Hoping to upgrade my system later this year. I've used the Epson Perfection 4990 scanner forever. Very satisfied, but since I'm planning to purchase new, thought I'd ask around to see if any of you have other suggestions. Specifically, I'd love to hear if anyone has found a scanner with greater depth of field or an adjustable focal length.

   Marsha, why don't you try that new MicroTek Artix. The fella that does that sparkly jewelry swears it has losts more depth of field than the Epson 500.00 models.
